SENIORS SENIORS SENIORS

Have you ever asked yourself, what's it like to be a SENIOR? Well, I can tell you it's like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. Every day our senior class grows closer and closer. Why? Well, because the majority of the seniors like the same things, do the same things, and feel the same way about certain issues. Recently, the seniors were asked to answer a survey that dealt with questions about collage, tardies, truancies, parents, and dating. The results are interesting.

Out of 132 seniors who responded to the survey, 95 plan on going to college. The rest of the seniors are either getting a job or joining the military service, but a few aren't quite sure what they want to do after graduation. Have you ever noticed that by the time the freshmen become seniors they skip classes more often and are frequently late to class, almost every other day? I have. As seniors, we tend to know what we can get away with and what we can't. The following results seem to prove this point. 63 out of 132 seniors have had up to zero to ten tardies throughout the year. 20 have had 11-20 tardies, can you believe it! What can we say, when you're a senior you tend to lose track of time. I'm sure those 20 students will agree with me. For the average number of classes that were skipped throughout the year, it was around three or more. 44 students must enjoy all their classes because they didn't skip once, whereas 28 seniors skipped one or two classes.

On to bigger and better things, like dating and the opposite sex. The majority of the seniors’ parents do not insist on meeting the person their son/daughter is going out with. For seniors, it's very typical that 120 do date, whereas 12 do not. The responses to the survey show that seniors like to date one person for a long period of time, but dating a lot of people for no certain amount of time was close behind.

According to the survey, personality is what attracts the seniors to select their date. Looks and intelligence are also a few other things to consider when deciding who they want to date. Out of the class of 1988, there are a few who want to remain single. However, the majority want to get married and have at least two kids.

9Favorites, everyone has 'em. Here's what some of the seniors' favorites were. The favor¬ite type of movie was the comedy with rock being the favorite type of music. Red was the color that most of the seniors liked the best.
In closing, being a senior is like something you've never experienced before. I'm sure you'll find out for yourself though. The close¬ness, the friendships, the laughter and the tears are part of what makes the senior class so unique. After being around someone day in and day out, one tends to know one another pretty well. To me, the class of 1988 is a class above all other classes.
